HP 15-AC067TX (AHL50/ABL52 LA-C701P) Short Circuit Repair

Laptop Model: HP 15-AC067TX (AHL50/ABL52 LA-C701P)

Fault phenomenon: Short Circuit

Board Number : AHL50/ABL52 LA-C701P

Repair Process:

I thought it would be easier to repair. After all, Laptop chip capacitors with short circuits at common points mostly have faults. The burn-in test found that the short circuit point was not the legendary capacitor, but a chip similar in appearance to SY8208, model RK5GB.

There are no drawings for this Laptop, and no drawings or data manual for this chip have been found. Later, I found out through Google that it may be the SYX196DQNC chip.

The faulty chip is in the red box. Through the wiring inductance, it is roughly as shown in the picture above.

It is judged that the short-circuit component RK5GB should be the graphics memory power supply chip, which is consistent with the graphics card CPU used on the motherboard and LA-b091P, so we refer to this drawing.

In LA-B091P, the memory voltage is 1.35V. After removing the RK5GB and disconnecting the power supply node, fly the wire from the memory 1.35V power supply inductor PL11 to the D pole of U4101.

After powering on the Laptop, it turns on, but after entering the system, the network card and wireless network card cannot be seen, and flashing the BIOS has no effect.

It seems from the drawing that the network card and wireless network card do not use 1.35V voltage, but I still took the SYX196DQNC back and installed it for testing.

After the replacement, it was found that the power supply of the video memory was 1.5V. The Laptop could be turned on and used normally, but the network card and wireless network card were still not found.

It was suspected that the bridge lacked power supply or was partially damaged. Since there were no drawings, the network card and WIFI were discarded and replaced with a USB WIFI receiver.

Happy Repairing !!
